Weeks of nothing 2/9/15

Hoooooooooooooola!!

So you are all going to be bored again this week because i don't have any cool stories to tell about the work in these few weeks. 3 weeks in a row we have only had 1 investigator come to church and its Francisco who we have been having a hard time getting him to want to get baptized. Well good news about him! This week he told us he wants to get baptized!!!!! But.......in April......in Tijuana! I don't even know how we are going to figure this out, but the good news is that he has a testimony and he knows he needs to and wants to get baptized! He really has made a lot of progress in these last couple of weeks so that's been the one awesome thing to see!

Ok so this week was a little crazy because one day we were in a trio and today we had 4 hermanas. we dont have any idea what has been going on because nobody would tell us anything, but last night we got a call at 11 30 at night from the zone leaders telling us that 2 of the hermanas were gong to come sleep at our house. Then they took out the other 2 hermanas that were in that ward and people only hint toward whats going on but they dont really tell us so that's totally lame. But that's about all of the excitement ive got going on. They're telling us we have to contact 12 people each day so thats the fun goal we have to work on this week....

Other htan that its actually been pretty hot here this week! Its been in the 80s and i have to put sunscreen on and have gotten sunbutyned!!! I dont think thats ever happened in my life in February before! But yeah and we did find one cool new investigator that is totally cholo but he has read a lot of his book of mormon and is excited about everything so we are excited for him.

Ummmmmmmmmm 2/2/15

Ok sorry if this email is going to be way boring but I have nothing to say!!!! First off Happy birthday Carly, Rex, and Justin!!!!!!!!!!! Woo hoo for being old!!!!!! Ok so this week was really slow again. we have just been trying to find new investigators because all of our other investigators arent progressing but so far we havent had much luck in finding people that actually want to go to church! we are still working with francisco getting baptized because he is getting pumped up and almost there, but just quite doesnt want to make the decision. He has dreams about getting baptized and he loves going to church but he is being rebelious haha! He has had some really cool experiences that have helped him realize that this is what he needs to do with his life, he just is scared to fall short after being baptized. But this week we went with him to read from the book of mormon because he cant read on his own. We read 3 nephi 11 and he was so excited after that and wants us to come all of the time and read with him now!

Hmmmm other than that theres not much to say. We went to go visit Gonzala and alvaro again and see what they would say. we only found her but alvaro was workingf. He still doesnt want anything with teh church, but she still wants to go in these next couple of weeks and not pressure him and hope that in time he will soften up. Theyre going to get baptized I just dont know when. I wont be here anymore, but one day its going to happen. 

We had intercambios this week and I worked with Hna Price (she is the one that Evan knows who plays softball) and it was really fun! Oh! And I found a girl in the ward who plays softball on her high school team here! She has become my new favorite member haha! Thats all ive got for you this week. Love you all so much!

Heartbreaker 1/26/15

HOLA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First of all Happy Birthday on Wednesday Sean!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love you an dmiss you and hope you party it up redneck style for me!!!!!!!!

so this week was actually pretty depressing!!!!!!! Alvaro, Gonzala, and Lizeth who were going to get baptized this week, dropped us!!!!!!!!!!!! They got internet and within a few hours he had seen a bunch of anti mormon stuff and thinks we are racist, polygamists, and he doesnt want any part of it!! i have never cried in a lesson before and that was the first time i cried when I was just trying to tell them to read their book of mormon and pray and god would help them understand that all the stuff they read are lies!!! But oh well at least we know that they werent ready for a baptism!! gonzala is way sad becasue she still wants to listen, but she is just following her husband. Im going to miss her a lot, she was such a doll face! Ooooooooooh well! it was actually pretty funny because yesterday we had  alesson close to their house so we were passing by to go with someone else and he was outside and didnt know that  ihad seen him! Next thing I know he was hiding behind a tree trying not to get our attention!!!!! It was pretty funny because he is this big tough military guy, thats afraid of the sister missoinaries!!!

So now we are on the hunt to find more investigators because pretty much nobody else is progressing!!!!!! Theres one guy thats gone to church like 9 times but doesnt want to accept a baptism date, but hes gettling there so ill keep you updates!

The good news is that my comp fell a couple of times on her bike again and it was o the sand and it didnt hurt her but I got some good laughs out of it!!!!!! One time she ran into my tire and we both fell but she started walking like a penguin becuase the pedal had hit her leg so that was some good times haha!!!!! I love you all so much!

Macho 1/19/15

Hoooooooooooooooooooooooola

So this week was pretty good, nobody fell so it was pretty calm haha! Last week we went to go get haircuts from a lady in the ward and I was like I just want a couple inch trim and some layers...so she started going to town on my hair. My companion was trying to talk me into getting bangs, but I told them no and next thing I know she started cutting bangs. Haha Im pretty sure there was the biggest look of horror on mine and my companions face when she was doing it! I feel way bald now because she cut off a butt load but oh well hopefully it grows a little bit in the next couple of months!! Too bad my camera is messed up and I cant send pictures. Im going to try and talk to a member this week to help transfer my pictures to a memory.

Ok so the fun part of this week is we were teaching Alvaro and gonzala and we were going to put a baptismal date February 12 and he thinks about it for a second and was like cant we do it this month in January in like 2 weeks!! Im pretty sure we just sat there with our mouths wide open so confused but it was awesome!!!!!!! so we are getting them ready for next week!! The only problem is that alvaro is way macho and thinks we dont have the authority to teach him because we are women, so the bishop always comes with us and has to like verify that we are actually teaching the truth....oh well

sorry I have nothing exciing to say other than that. I love you all so much!! This church is true! Everything just makes so much sense I love the gospel

Week of falls!! 1/12/15

Hola everyone!!! Oh my heck this week I almost died a bunch of times from laughing so hard!! I love Hermana Cabrera, she is so funny!! Ok the best parts of this week has definitely been watching my comp try and get used to the bike! Hahahaha oh my heck it´s been so funny! so the first night we get home and she was way tired because the first couple of days kind of suck on the bike. So she like can´t even use her legs anymore so I see her start to tip when she was trying to get off, but I thought she was goin gto catch herself so I turned away to open the door. Next thing I know I heard a big thud and she was laying on the ground under her bike saiyng that she couldn´t move her legs!! I was legitly laughing for like 5 minutes straight and coupllen´t breathe or say the prayer!

Then round two was a big dog came running at us so I stopped and was going to get off and try and defend myself. Next thing I know Hermana Cabrera ran into my bike, fell over on the side of the dog, and tried getting herself back up....but it was like th ecartoons when no matter how hard they try to stand up, their legs keep buckling and they keep falling over!! I was peeing my pants!!!! There wa s an old man watching th ewhole thing and my companion got up and started contacting him while I was laughing hysterically and crying!! Oh man good times.

What else....oh! also somtimes (most of the time) I get really tired at night and when I¨m saying my prayers before going to bed I tend to maybe doze off for a little bit. so the other day I was apparently out for like 40 minutes and my companion panicked a little bit. she thought I was having some really bad problems and like started dying and thought I was mad at her or something and didn´t know what to do. Then next thing she heard me kind of snoring and breathing really deeply and finally figured out I was asleep. the struggle is real when it comes to bedtime prayers ,I´ll tell you that. 

Other than that things have been pretty good too. We had pretty much all of our baptismal dates fell, but we found some really awesome people. I´m pretty sure last week I talked about Alvaro and how he has so many questions and th ebishop helped him a ton. so we went back to visit him and his wife this week and he wants to have his whole family get baptized at once and give it a shot and he´s just way excited about everythin gand I just love this family!! It would be him, his wife gonzala, and their daughter lizeth that would get baptized, because their other daughter is only 6. 

But yeah, I´m loving life, laughing a lot and just happy to be whre I am. The church is true and I seriously just learn to love it more and more every single day. I love you all and miss you!

Aaaaaaaah I have no time to think 1/5/15

So we had transfers and for the first time in my whole mission I only stayed with a companion for one transfer and Hermana Martinez changed and shes going to Tijuana. So Im here with Hermana Cabrera! shes awesome, I knew her a little bit from Tijuana and shes way nice. shes from Oaxaca.....thats where they filmed nacho libre.....so of course I already love her haha!!! So she just barely got here so thats why im writing so late! Today I spent all day with the hermanas in the other sector and did nothing just waiting for her and only slept 2 hours last night, so im pretty dead right now haha!

So other than that this week was pretty calm. We found a lot of new investigators but it seems like nobody that we find is progressing. Gonzala isprogressing backwars. Her husband is in town now and weve started teaching him because hes military and isnt always here. So its crazy teaching him because he doesnt let us teach him anything but talks soooooo much but we brought the bishop with us the other day and you could just see the heart of alvaro soften and now hes giving serious thought to the gospel. We had pretty much nobody in church and then surprise showed up an investigator that had gotten baptized before but never confirmed and then got mad at the church. I dont know what happened but she didnt want anything with the church, and now she wants us to go and visit her again!!!

Oh my so I got your packages this week!!!!!!! Oh my heck I have the best family and friends in the world ever adn I just love you all so much!!!!!!! Everyone was so jealous of everything!! I have candy coming out the wazoo so no worries about me dying of hunger for reeses in the next year haha!! I LOVED everything so much and cant tell you all thank you enough!! I hope you all have an awesome week!!!! Hechenle muchas ganas

FELIZ NAVIDAD!!!!! 12/29/14

First of all Christmas was AWESOME TALKING TO EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!! Im seriously just so happy!!! I could hardly hear anything that was going on and I felt like i was just screaming like a crazy person the whole time but i seiously loved it and it made me sooooo stinking happy!!!!!!!!! But yeah I hope everyone had an awesom christmas. We had an activity with our zone and we all made tortillas byt hand and we had a carne asada and exchanged gifts and stuff so it was way fun! ANd on christmas Eve we went to the neighbors house and ate tamales and they gave us little presents too! Ive eaten soooo many tamales this week but theyre soooo tasty!! Pretty much I love Mexican food and everything

Other than that everything was pretty calm. My companion fell on the stairs last week and hurt her back and we hardly got to leave to work. It was my worst week number wise in my whole mission. It was pretty much like having 6 p days last week with all of lthe holidays and days spent with my comp and i stuck in the house! A lot of our baptismal dates have dropped and we are desperate trying to find new investigators. <Pretty muhc we have gonzala right now who is the only one progressing. Her baptism date is next week but shes pretty nervous because she thinks she can just continue being a good person but that a baptism isnt necessary so we have to work with her a ton this week! Im happy and eveyhing is going good here!! Im happy to be able to be a missionary for Christmas even though I didnt really get presents or anything, but I found out that the most important thing is helping others and being able to talk to all of the people that I love!!
