Bautismos and disasters! 6/30/14

Hola todas como estan????? This week started off pretty awesome because firstly we had a baptism on Tuesday!!!!!! It was for Everardo and it was the best baptismal service Ive had out here! I felt the spirit and his sister who we are teaching was crying up a storm. Well I should say it was the best baptismal service Ive had until the end when they made us sing again. They made Hermana Alba and I start off singing solas and we couldnt remember the tune of the song so we attempted to start 3 times and it was just horrible so the ward mission leader started with us to help us out! I cant even explain the horror of this musical number but Im not even kidding everyone was making fun of us after! Haha they were all doing it jokingly and we knew it was horrible so it didnt hurt our feelings but seriously it was the ugliest thing Ive ever heard in my life! We are refusing to sing anymore musical numbers after this!

Theres always lots of people randomly kissing passionately on the streets here so thats always fun stuff haha. What else...today we burned a cockroache with our personal flamethrower of hairspray and a lighter! This week was pretty rough as far as the work goes apart from our baptism. Pretty much nobody wanted to hear from us this week and the new people we did find were locos! We worked a lot with less actives and we did find this cute less active family that for a long time had been thinking about going back but felt weird but didnt know if they would still know anyone, and the mom came with us to church yesterday it was awesome! Mexico played in the world cup at 9:00 and church was from 8:00 to 11:00 so lets just say it was a disaster and no investigators came to church...and mexico lost anyways. But its all good we are going to find investigators of gold this week!

Love you all so much and Im so happy for the chance I have to be a missionary! I love the people here and I love seeing the changes in people and seeing how they treasure the gospel so much because they have so little. Love you and miss you all!!!!!! Have a good 4th of July! viva Mexico!!!

The house of horror 6/23/14

Hola hola hola hola a todas!!!!!!!!!!!! This week was pretty boring, sorry I'm not going to have much to say. First of all the title of this email is because there are SO MANY cockroaches and nasty bugs in the house here!! Okay we've only found like 5 cockroaches, but it was disgusting! Randomly ill just hear Hermana Alba start screaming and I know its either a cockroach or an ugly spider or something! The other day we tried moving our entire beds into another room because we couldn't find this nasty spider. After about a half an hour of attempting it we realized there was no hope and the bed was never going to fit so we just prayed the spider wouldn't kill us in the night haha

Everyone is crazy excited about the world cup and today Mexico won and everyone is just so happy!!! They're all sporting their official Mexican jersey gear

The work is slowly picking up here! We have the BEST investigator in the world, her name is Matilde! I seriously love her soooooooooo much and shes so excited about everything and wants her husband to listen and wants to invite us and other members over to her house to have dinner this week. We had some awesome spiritual lessons this week when I seriously felt like we had found these people at the right place and at the right time! 

Tomorrow we are going to have a baptism, for a man named Everardo. Oh Everardo. He never understands anything I'm saying and I never understand what hes saying. He talks so fast and we both just look at each other so confused and most of the time just give up haha! but this week during a lesson we wouldn't move on with what we were doing until he paid attention to what I was saying and understood me. So yeah that's pretty much it sorry I'm not too exciting. I love being a missionary and I love Mexico and I love the people I've met here!!! I would never trade the experiences I've had!!
