Easter and Bufadora 4/21/14

Hola hola mi familia y amigos!!!!!!!!!!!!! This week there was lots of ups and downs but all in all it was way fun!! First off Happy Easter and birthday shout out to my cute little buddy boy Carter!!!! Cant believe hes 2 and getting to be so big! Cant wait to see how big he is and all your faces in like 3 weeks!! Woo hoo Im stoked!!!!

so this week we were eating at a members house and she fed us SO MUCH and I thought I was going to explode and barf and I almost had to quit but I pushed through it! but yeah I dont know why but Hermana Rosas and I were having laugh attacks  and man sometimes I just cant stop laughing the people here are so funny! Mexicans are pretty much the best people in the world and I love them so much!!! We had interviews with the mission president so that was pretty good.

Oh guess what some guy bought us free tacos the other day. All I had to do was wink and smile at him and yeah next thing you know I didnt have to pay....haha of course I didnt really do that but yeah he did buy our tacos so that was freakin sweet!!!

Oh my so theres this new investigator that we have that HErmana Ortiz and I contacted in the street in probably january or february and when we tried to go back and visit him things never worked out and we kind of forgot about him. so the other day we get a text out of the blue asking when and where the church is. so we were like ok and can we come visit you one day! He is AMAZInG!! Seriously the lesson we had with him was one of the most spirritual experiences of my mission! Hes been so prepared by the Lord and he was asking all of these questions that just fit in the lesson perfectly! We will see what else happens with him again wednesday.

so this week we had an easter concert where some of the missinoaries that are serving in Tijuana right now came down and sang hymns and stuff. Oh wow I was not expecting it to be so good but I was honestly blown away!! There were 3 missinoaries that were in the MTC the same time as me but in a different zone and I was dying it was the first time I have heard people sing like that pretty much since I came to Mexico! All the investigators that came with us absolutely loved it. 

Oh and today we went to the Bufadora with our zone and it was so much fun! we were close to the ocean and it was so pretty and it was just so awesome because they had all of these little shops set up and were selling Elote (corn on a stick), luchador masks, sombreros, and pretty much everything Mexican and classy that you can think of!!! Best money Ive ever spent!! I bought a nacho libre mask that comes with a cape and a picture of nacho posing on the back!! Haha Ive never been more happy in my life!! and then on top of that with all of the corn around me it was just the most perfect moment for nacho libre quotes in my life!! Oh and I also bought luchador action figures...you know I cant resist something as awesome as that haha!

Thats pretty much all the excitement we had here! Mexicans dont really do anything to celebrate easter so it was pretty boring yesterday. Same old same old. But there were catholics walking around the streets with people dressed like Jesus and stuff on Friday so that was difference. Yep thats all Ive got for you today. I love you all so much and cant believe that the time is starting to pass so fast and I cant believe that its almost May!!!!!!!! Its really crazy juice!! 

NO Time!! 4/14/14

Well how is everyone doing this week I freakin love you!!!!!!! My week was so much better and it seemed like we talked to a million new people and so many people were open to listening and man it felt good!! Guess what Im pretty sure we are going to finally have our first baptism together next week for Ofelia! Shes the cutest lady that told us she has seen such a difference in her life since we started coming and the biggest difference is just the happiness that she feels! Its people like her who really see a difference that makes everything that we do out here worth it!

So we talked to the mom of my favorite people about being able to take them to church and it was pretty much the most awkward and heartbreaking thing of my life. She said no, but at least she talked to us and stuff but Im dying a little on the inside. Yeah sorry that this email is going to suck and that the pictures arent working! I need an hour just to be able to work on pictures! 

We had companion exchanges this week and the sister training leader worked with me and was like yeah we are going to have another companion exchange this week because theres some stuff we need to work on. Ouch!! I need some ointment for that burn!!!!!! Nah but its all good I feel like a disaster a lot that has no idea whats going on, but hey we are working hard and starting to have a lot more success so Im happy! The internet is about to kick me off but I love you all so much and cant tell you how much I miss you but I hope you have an awesome week and party it up for me and listen to lots of music for me becasue Ive really been missing music this week! LOVE YOU!!!!!!

Conference and wedding proposals!! 4/7/14

Hola hola hola!!!!!!!!!!!!

How was conference for everyone???? For me it was pretty awesome when I understood it haha! It was all with the spanish voice overs so I understand the gist of what they said, just sometimes missed the details but I could feel the spirit so thats all that matters! Isnt the prophet a stud!

This week we got like a million people who gave us fake addresses and phone numbers and we didnt teach one new investigator, but whateves we will get it next week! Im getting better at just letting stuff bounce off of me and just trying to move on and have a good attitude even when I feel pressure to get higher numbers. We have AMAZING investigators who I love so much but we just cant seem to figure out how to help them progress!

Oh my Fernanda and Ana Karen have a sister, Aimee, who decided on her own free will to come out and join our lesson one day it was awesome! This is seriously one of my favorite families that I have met out here!! They are all just so dang cute and they love when we come! Their parents literally wont give them permission to do anything and Im really scared that we are going to have to stop visiting them as often because their parents wont let them come to church with us even though the want to! This is the third family that has done this to us already and it makes me so sad!!!! The kids are perfect and believe in everything and pray and read and want to get baptized and the parents wont talk to us!!! Im praying so hard for them because I dont want to lose another family!!

Ok so anyways funny story. we were teaching our investigator, Luis, who we have been working with for about 3 weeks or so to get a baptism date and he just doesnt want to accept. So yesterday we discovered hes a little crazy. First off he said he would get baptized if I married him...at first we thought it was a joke and then when we realized he was totally serious I just got all awkward and was like "oh...Im a little young...so anyways" Haha keep in mind hes like fifty something years old. But yeah then he started telling us weird things about dogs talking to him and I was totally confused in the lesson because he used weird words but lets just say we are not going to be going around visiting much anymore haha!

Sad story this week a lady totally ripped into my spanish and told me to study more and told me she wasnt going to pray because she couldnt understand my spanish. The cute member that was with us was like I understood everything you just have to pay attention. 

5 months in the mission!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woo hoo my companion and I had like a 5 minute dance party to the ringtones on the phone to celebrate my 5 mohnths and her 1 month!! Woo hoo party missinary style haha! But really its crazy juice, I come home next may!!

Thats about all Ive got. I hope Kierstin and Jenna had awesome birthdays and just know how much I love and miss you all!!!! I cant wait to see you again and keep being awesome and keep kickin it!! Mwah!
