Got Sand? 12/22/14

Hooooooooooooooooooola!!!!!!

So I really have pretty much nothing to say here this week but we´ll see how this goes!! First of all computers in San Luis hate my camera so no pictures again! Pretty much my life consists of a lot of sand haha! Riding the bike in the sand is rough but it´s also way funny when people fall! speaking of that...this week we had intercambios and I was here with another Hermana and we knocked on the house and this old guy came out to see what we wanted and tripped on a stick or something, I don´t even know what and went FLYING!!! Serioulsy he travled like 10 feet trying to catch his balance and it took all of our will poewr to keep ourselves together and not laugh!! Then like 5 minutes later my companion started getting up on her bike and forgot to put her helmet on and we were in the sand and you could just like see the look of panic on her face! she was going like 2 miles per hour and just feel over and that´s when I lost in and we just died laughing!!

As for the work things have been pretty slow. we´ve been contacted more than ever but it seems like things just weren´t working out for us to be able t find new investigators that could progress. ON e of our investigators, gonzala, and her daughiter, lizeth, are doing awesome and came to church for the second time yesterday. I love her so much! She always calls us her chicitas or chicas hermosas haha!! Other than that there´s not much going on with th einvestigators. She told us that she doesn´t know why but everytime she reads the Book of <mormon she just feels goodand she just can´t help but feel like it´s true!! I love the poewr of the book of mormon!!

This week we had the ward christmas party that was supposed to start at 7 o clock. Just as usual everyone started showing up at 8 o clock and about 8 30 things got rolling. We had to be home by nine so we didn´t even get to eat anything. We just got to hear the talk the bishop gave and then went home so it was pretty much th lamest ward christmas party i´ve been to. Ni modo.

That´s all i´ve got for you this week but I love you all soooooooooo much and can´t wait to talk to you on Thursday!!!!!!!!! I hope 5 o clock works for everyone?? Adios!!!

No hacemos nada!!!! 12/15/14

Hola hola everybody!! Ok I'm writing this earlier this week so that you don't sass me mom haha!! Sorry about last week! Ok this week was pretty stinking awesome but I also feel like we didn't do anything, but it's all good!! First of all on Tuesday morning we went to Mexicali and spent all day there because we had the christmas dinner and conference with the president!! We didn't get home until after 10:30 at night and we left at like 7 in the morning so literally we did nothing! But it was SO much fun!! We spent ALL day with the missionaries so I was with Hna Alba all day and it was just the funnest day ever! They gave us dinner and we watched a slidewhow of the mission. We had to do skits which was way embarrassing but it was way fun!! 

Then on Wednesday night they randomly called saying that Thursday morning I had to go to Tijuana to do my visas. So like 4 of us went to Tijuana and did nothing all day because we were traveling for like 8-9 hours there and back. I saw Hna Beaumont there and it was fun to ask her about El Dorado. THen we had intercambios the next day and finally on Saturday I was bakc in the sector to actually work.

And the best part was that we had a baptism on Saturday!!! His name is Francisco and he's awesome! The Hermanas have been teaching him for 8 months and he finally got baptized!! When I first got here he said he wanted to learn more and didn't feel ready for a baptism. We prayed for him a bunch and just tried to do anything we could. Then randomly one day we show up to teach him and he's stoked and wants to get baptized!!!!!! The pictures from this week on my camera aren't working so I'll have to get you some of the baptism hopefully next week!

Congrats Chase!!!!!! I can't believe he's going home tomorrow!! That's soooooo awesome!! Everyone is starting to go home!! And happy birthday on Wednesday for Kylie and on Sunday for Tanner!!!!!!! Love you all!! Oh and guess what......there's a member in my ward named Encarnacion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hahahahahahaha it gets me everytime and I just want to burst out singing!! Good old Mexico!! Ok I don't know what other details you want mom. There's a lot of dirt here, and it feels less sketchy here than in Tijuana. We're getting there with the ward. I had to speak in church yesterday. About an hour before church the bishop called and asked me to speak because somebody backed out last minute. People gave me more compliments than usual so maybe in the future I shouldn't prepare very much haha! I don't know that's all I've got for you. There's some HUGE houses that are so nice, but then on the other side we've got some really poor people who hardely have money to buy food so we have both sides. Everybody watch it and share it with the world and introduce them to the missionaries!!!!!!!

aaaaaah 12/8/14

Sorry I only have 4 minutes left on the computer and its going to kick me off!!!!!!!! This week was better!! We should be havintg a baptism this saturday that was a miracle but i wll tell you more next week!! <it rained way hard on wednesday and we had to wear platic bags that a lady gave us to help us stay dry!!! Aaaah I have no time but i lolve you all!!! Congrats alex goaslind and I think chase next week coming home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Una semana de locos 12/1/14

Hola hola everyone!!!!!! Ok so this week was loco because everybody here is loco!!!!!!!! Like seriously everybody whose brains are like way fried from so much drugs are here and it´s crazy juice!!!! We´ve had some interesting contacts and stuff in just one week!! also this is totally the way to get killer buns and thighs is to be a missionary on a bike!!! Now I totally understand the pain of my other missionary friends on bikes haha! I´ve also learned that the random dogs always roaming the streets hate bikes!!! Plus I swear the dogs here are way bigger than they were in Tijauana-that could be because now they´re chasing me and freak me out but oh well I have my bike to protect me haha!! We´ve had some hard times this week trying to work with the members and have them come with us in the appointments but oh well, hopefully it´s better next week!! Oh and Brock happy birthday last week!!!!!!!!!!! I hope you ate some yummy turkey for your birthday!! I love you!!  Sorry but this computer is messed up and won´t read my camera again!!! Triste vida!! Who knows why the computers outside of Tijuana all hate me and don´t want you to get pictures especially right now <i have a ton! That´s all i can think of! We´re working way hard right now at trying to get these two guys to get baptized who have gone to church 4 times but they both say that they need more time to learn and think so hopefully we´ll get them in these next couple of weeks!! San Luis! 11/24/14

Ok so we had transfers and I changed and now i{m in another state!!! im in San Luis Rio colorado which is part of the state of Sonora instead of Baja California!! im going to be on a bike so this will be interesting haha!! This week was so sad but yet so fun at the same time!!! I got to see all of my old companions this week and talk to them and it was just the happiest thing of my life!!!!!!!!! I freakin love all of the people ive met here and all of my new friends!!! Seriosyl im just way happy i decided tocome on the mission! im totally freaked out to be in another area but it will be good in a couple of days! I can{t remember anything because i left my computer chord and the stuff that have happened this week in my suitcase so this email might stink! It was really happy to be able to see everybody but way sad because  had to say goodbye to everyone in El Dorado! Saying goodbye to Edgar and JCsarlos was the hardest! I cried a lot after we left their house.....im just going to miss them so much and i just have to trust that the ward is going to worry about them and take good care of them! Pretty much I cried a lot yesterday and now Im happy to suffer on my bike haha! Sorry next week ill send all of my pictures and write something better. love you all so much!!!!!!

Nobody loves us :( 11/17/14

Hola hola hola!!!!! this week was seriously th ehardest one I"ve had in my mission in the fact that NOBODY wanted to listen to us!! Seriously I've never been rejected so many times in one week. I felt like I was on the mission in Europe or something haha! But it's all good because on Saturday night we were able to find a new famliy that all went to church on Sunday and we've got some investigators that are progressing well and should get baptized next month!!! Next week is transfers so I"m a little sad becasue this will most likely be my last week in this area! I like can't sleep because I get so sad to say goodbye to everybody here, but it's time to go! 6 months is long enough haha! 

Oh I got a package from HEather this week that I loved that had notes from all my cousins and everybody and thank you all so much I LOVED it!!!!! And thanks mom, dad, and Paula for the package you're all the best!! 

I'm freezing here!! When I hear about everyone in missions and other places and at home I feel like a baby because it's proably way hot here compared to everyone else but at night time I walk around with my beenie and gloves on from the cold. Haha everyone looks at me and they're like where are you from again?? When I tell them I"m from Utah they make fun of me becasue I should be good against the cold! I've turned Mexican I guess! good luck to all of my frinends who are in cold missions hahahaha!! Well sorry this is way boring! Tecate 11/10/14

Ok so I'm so boring I never know what to name my emails haha! so this week was pretty slow on the work because nobody was home and nobody wanted to listen to us so we didn;'t have very many lessons and we didn't find very many new investigators! I was sick with a cold and a fever at the beginning of the week so it was pretty miserable to work for a day or two, but it's all good! guess what! I saw Hna Rosas!!!!! We got to talk for like 2 hours and it was so fun!!!!!! She gave me all of the updates on Ensenada and all that's happened with her since I changed areas!

Also I'm a ninja because I killed a black widow this week! Haha actually I almost died because I was so scared but we've seen a couple of black widows this week and it scares the crap out of me. (don't worry mom, none of them have been in the house) So for our 1 year mark we went to a member's house and she made us hamburgers and hot dogs and yummy cake to celebrate becasue there are 4 of us that completed a year this wek! Then we burned one of my shirts at nighttime and shot off poppers! Woo hoo 1 year!!!!!!!!!!!

We had intercambios this week and I went to Tecate with another Hermana and it was so SCARY!! Everything there is like way lonely and I legitly thought we were going to get attacked on this lonely dirt road in the pitch black...but no worries nothitng happened!! But we had the weirdest lesson! We found this testigo de jehovah that was soooooooooooooo annoying and was just trying to fight with us and prove that God is Jehovah. so my companion was trying to prove her wrong, and then her niece (who's a nun and was sitting there in her little nun robes-ENCARNACION!!!) and pulls out her phone and just started filming them! It's hard to explain it, but it was just a really weird lesson filled with nuns, jehovah witnesses, and a crazy lady with her guts in a bag!

So anyways that's all I've got for you guys this week!! I LOVE the people here and I'm way happy! I hope you all have an awesome week!! Oh and I'm totally getting even more chubbier (like you can see in the picture) but oh well I was really happy to see her haha

525,600 minutes!!!! 11/3/14

OK FIRST OF ALL TODAY MARKS ONE YEAR SINCE MY FAREWELL AND THURSDAY I OFFICIALLY COMPLETE A YEAR IN THE MISSION!!!!!!!! AAAAAAH SO CRAZY!!! Oh and also Happy Halloween!!!! They don't do really anything here so my day was way boring!! It gets way sketchy and dangerous on the streets so we had to be in the house at 6:00. We had a couple of people come to do "tricky tricky"at our house so luckily I still had some treats from the packages you've all sent me to give to them!! First off all YES thank you so much grandpa I did get the package!!!!!!! And yes I got the bonus present inside my letter!! Love you you're the best!! I dressed up like Nacho Libre for Halloween in the house because I had nothing to do and all I had was my nacho mask haha! Also in the morning we had to go to teh main chappel in Tijuana where the pressident goes because Hna B had practice for a christmas concert she is going to sing in. so it's Hna Muir's area and I totally saw her for like 2 seconds and it was awesome!

And guesss what else!! DANIELA GOT BAPTIZED!!! She was SOOOOOOOOOOOO excited and so happy and so cute!! After the ordinacnce she said she felt different than she had ever felt in her life and it was something that she's never going to forget!!!! She started crying when everybody was telling her congratulations and she's just so pumped up about everything! I love her!! She's been the coolest investigator to teach in my whole mission and i'm just so happy for her!!!!!!!! The Lord is honestly preparing people to accept the gospel and it's just so awesome to see her so happy about it!! We're working with some awesome investigators that hopefully should get baptized in 2 or 3 weeks coming up so that will be good stuff if they can do it right before transfers!! Love you all so much and hope you have an awesome week and that Halloween was way fun!! Oh! And also, Emmy I got your letter and you're the first cousin to write me so you totally win and I love you and I'll write you back soon!!!

This is how close I was to America today!!!!!!!!!!!! I was dying I was so happy!! A member drove us there we were on our way back from the offices and it was awesome!! I could see 'Merica!!! 6 months!! Oh and also we drove down a street today that is known for having prostitutes....yep it's true!! We got lost and ended up there and just passed by fast and saw various haha! good old Tijuana

Bautismos por fin!!! 10/27/14

Hola everyone this week Carlos and Edgar got baptized!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously it was the best day ever!! we were SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!! There were SO MANY people from the ward who went to their baptism and are supporting them and they just have to feel so stinking loved!!! We were scared they might not wake up in the morning and make it to their confirmation!! They showed up 20 minutes late and just about gave us heart attacks but they made it and I'm just so happy!!!!!!!! Edgar told us he felt different after the confirmation than before! We tried explaining the confirmation alnd the gift of the holy ghost a lot of times, but I still think they're a little confused, but they'll understand more, the more that they go! So that was the number one best thing!!

 Then Daniela will be either getting baptized this saturday or next sautrday we just have to check with the ward to see! She's so awesome!!!! They other day she asked us if she could have a fast just to give thanks to the Lord for all of the blessings she's gotten! She's so cute! Hmmm what else! There's a dude here that drives one of the calafias (it's like the bus-like things that we take) and now he always gives us free rides wherever we go! Haha the perks of being pretty!! Just kidding!! We did a service project this week with the stake and we cleaned up all of the garbage off of the streets close to the church.....it was nasty!! Tijuana streets are not the cleanest things you've ever seen in your life! but now they look a lot nicer :) Love you all so much and hope you have an awesome week!! I want to buy a hamburger!! 10/20/14

Hoooooooooooooolaaaaaaaaaaa!! 

so this week nothing too different happened, we just went crazy trying to track down Edgar and Carlos all week to teach them everything before their baptism tomorrow, but we did it!! I literally thought I was going to die getting the signature from her mom and stressing out getting everything figured out, but they're all ready to go, they just have their interviews tonight! So in order to get baptized yesterday they HAD to go to church!! So we show up to sacrament meeting and jEdgar's there but Carlos isn't because he didn't want to wake up! so we had to send llike a search team out to get him here and they kid totally like dies instead of sleeping because it took like half an hour to get him out of bed! His mom had to throw water on him haha! That sounds totally sad, but he was the one who said he wanted to go! They're SO cute and just have the hardest situation they're in, but they're just such good kids and they really like going to church...well that is after they wake up haha!  I just love the people here!!

so to explain the title this is because I lived a total Pink Panther moment this week! So we're teaching this one guy English and he made up a sentence and was like "I eat a hamburger" and he couldn't pronounce hamburger right, and my companion was trying to help him and I can't even explain how perfectly pink panther it was!! I was trying to hard not to life and secretly pull my camera out to film it!!

That's pretty much all I can think of. I love everybody so much!!!!!!! I hope Chase and Grandma had awesome birthdays this week, I was thinking about you! and happy birthday Alex this week!! Don't party too much in peru

Que en el mundo??? 10/13/14

So we had transfers and.......I"m staying here. I was SO confused!!! Hermana Beaumont are staying here the same! That means I'm going to be here for 6 months again! I had started saying goodbye to people that I wasn't going to see on Sunday and somebody gave me tacos as a goodbye present haha! That's going to be awkward when they see me still walking the streets of Tijuana here :) Seriously that's pretty much the only exciting thing I have to say today! I was planning on saying where I was going to get transfered, but they surprised me and punished me for assuming haha! I'm way happy that I'll get to see Edgar and Carlos get baptized next week and Daniela the week after that!!!

Seriously Daniela is the best investigator in the world! she's on Mosiah chapter 4 in her Libro de Mormon!!!!! She's reading it faster than me!! Haha sorry this is totally way boring. Oh, cute Carlos bought like a little suit to wear so that he would be more formal when he came with us and he wrote us a letter telling us that we were his best friends!! It was so funny because we teach them at a member's house because their house has some problems. So anyways, the other day Carlos was out playing soccer who knows where and then we went and taught Edgar at the bishops house and like 20 minutes later little 10 year old Carlos shows up and was like I just knew you were going to be here!! It's like he has a 6 sense for the Hermanas haha! But that's pretty much it. Transfers were way stinking weird this time with the whole zone! Sorry that's all I've got!

Oh wait! We went and visited Wendy (my old investigator who I loved so much who dropped us) to say goodbye to her and I wanted to figure out what had happned and why they dropped us. So it turns out that her husband didn't believe very much in God and so when they went to church there was a class about tithing and he got mad and didn't want to go back becuase he didn't want to have to pay tighing one day :( sad day.  

Well hopefully I'll finally have a baptism to write home about soon and some more stuff next week! I lovoe you all so much and hope this week is a good one! This is a picture of our district :)

Cakes and conference and CRAZINESS 10/6/14

HOLA!!!!!!!! THIS WEEK WAS SO MUCH FUN I LOVED IT!!!First of all the best thing in the world is that Carlos and Edgar ended up not moving!!!!!!!!!!! seriously I just about cried when we went by their house and found them again!!!!!!!!!!! They're seriously like my little brothers I just love them so much!!They went to botht he conference sessions on Saturday and then Carlos went to both on Sunday....our youngest investigator (he's 10 years old) and he's the only person who went to all 4 conference sessions! He's so funny he was pretty much sleeping through a good portion of it! Seriously I was laughing so hard during all of conference because everybody was falling asleep and for the first time in my life I wasn't the one bobbing the whole time haha! Well on the second session on Saturday Carlos was sprawled out on the seat and we tried waking him up for like 2 minutes and he was just out solid and then when he finally woke up he had the couch lines on his face and I was dying! And Edgar had  his head back with his mouth open snoring and seriously I can't explain how funny it was!! then we have a total cholo investigator who came and watching him bob the whole time was  cracking us up too! But the best part was my companion kept falling asleep and Carlos would wake her up and she would look at us all mad and be like "I'm not sleeping" and then 5 seconds later she would be bobbing again and this went on pretty much all 4 sessions and this probably isn't as funny as I"m making it sound but it's still making me laugh right now just talking about it!!

So conference was awesome as usual!!! i really liked when Richard G. Scott was talking about Prayer and in the talk with President MOnson about how it doesn't matter if we walk where Christ walked, but if we walk how he walked!! woo hoo for conference!! I was next to Carlos and my little buddy Diegito and they were just locos so I couldn't focus very much so that was sad, but it was still awesome!! We had 10 investigators come to general confeence and 6 inactives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We were freakin out it was so awesome!! Seriously I loved this week we found the most awesome people adn everyone is progressing awesome!!! Daniela is still the most amazing, prepared investigator youi could think of, and now her mom wants to listen because of the change that she saw in Daniela!!!!!!  I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE THIS AREA!!!!! We have transfers next week and now I'm scared I'm leaving when we have so many awesome investigators!!

Then my birthday was good thanks everybody!!! I had 3 cakes and got way fat!!! The Elders bought me a cake at district meeting on tuesday and we did the "mordida"and they shoved my face in it! Then Tatiana bought me a cake and the bishop's wife when we went and ate with them!!! It was a pretty normal day, but with a lot more cake haha! Oh and I ate a grasshopper! Ew.. there was an Elder who had some that his famly had sent him and it was just so weird! But that's all I've got for you! I'm so happy and having so much fun and I"m excited to see where I'm gonig next week (I'm just assuming I"m going to be transfered) Love you all so much and hope you have the best week ever!!!

Hola!!!!!!!!!!

This week was pretty good! It was way awesome because we found the best investigator EVER!!!! Serioulsy she's way prepared by the lord! Her name is Daniela. She went to a famiyl home evening with the family of her boyfriend and they passed the reference to us and before we even started the lesson she told us she wanted to get baptized and she looked like she was going to cry when we gave her her own copy of the Book of Mormon and couldn't stop saying thank you!! I've never had somebody understand the lesson so perfectly before and she prayed and told God sorry for worshipping him diferently before but now she wants to follow in the correct path. I just love her so much she's so cute! and she's 21 so we're pretty much the same age! Ew I can't believe I"m going to be so old this week!! Thank everybody so much for the birthday wishes and packages I seriously love you all so much!!! I got the packages, but haven't opened the packages but read the letters!!! I love you so much!! Seriously Tan Tan and Emily that was the funniest letter ever!!

So the sad thing this week is that my two buddies Carlos and Edgar moved away and I dind't get t ot say goodbye to them :( I just hope that their neighbor can still get a hold of them so I can still talk to them one day. The picture is with them. Hmm what else. 

We had intercambios and I went with Hna Morales and it was seriously so much fun!! She came here, but my companion got to go to Tecate. We had 4 inactive people in church yesterday! two of them hadn't been to church in 25 years and we visited them one time and the mom cried and they went to church Sunday!! I love the mission and seeing that just one visit can change someone's life!! And they found us when we were passing by and flagged us down. 

That's all I can think of right now!! We're not having any success right now with our investigators and getting baptized because the one option is way rebelious haha, but Hna Beaumont should have at least 5 baptisms when I leave, so I"m happy for at least what I'll be leaving behind.
