ANTS!!! 5/19/14

Hola hola!!!!!!!!!!
Jessica HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I forgot to mention it in the email last week but I was thinking about you all day!
This week was pretty freakin awesome because to start Angie got baptized!!!!!!!!! Seriously it was a miracle!! People said it was never going to happen but hahahaha take that!! Shes the cutest I freakin love her! Shes 17 so its been fun teaching her.
Oh my Daniel, one of my converts, is seriously the best person in the world and the strongest member and my whole missino would be worth it if he was even my only baptism! We saw him completely change his life and now he is literally so strong in the church, he reactivated his daughter, is bringing his other daughter to church, inviting his friends to church, received the Melchezidek priesthood last week, and came with us on appointments this week!!! Seriously when he gave his testimony in the lesson I almost cried because he talked about his life before and how many blessings hes seen and just the things he said made me so happy that I could be a part of it! Im seriousy in love with all the people here and I dont know how im going to leave when transfers come
Ok to explain the title. When it starts to get hot here all the bugs come out and its horrible! People say I havent seen anything yet and theres nasty things...its not like in other countries but theres just things scarier than Utah. Weve been having battles with the spiders in the house and I have spider bites and today we went crazy cleaning the house and spraying the little suckers haha! But ok worst thing ever. So Im just sitting in the house the other day and all of the sudden i hear the scream of death from the bathroom! So I just started laughing because my companion screams a lot when theres a spider in the house haha! But shes like you have to come see this! So I go in the bathroom and Im not kidding when I say there was an INVASION OF ANTS!! She lifted up the top to the toilet and it was like a stinkin horror movie!!! I almost died it was so nasty! The bathroom was like a battle ground by the end with water and nasty bug killer and who knows what! Ugh I cant even explain it but we have been jittery (spell check) with all the bugs this week! Thats about it I think.... We should be having another baptism this wednesday!! We are working really hard with this guy, Manuel, and tonight we are going to find out if he will get baptized or not so thats exciting!!!! Woo hoo Im really having fun out here...even if I am getting eaten alive by all the nasty little bugs! LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!! Have an awesome weekl!

Happy Mothers Day!! 5/12/14

Yesterday was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously LOVED talking to all of you and seeing your faces and hearing your voices! Best day ever! Cant wait to see you all in one year from right now!! So I pretty much told you all of my stories but ill write them for you anyways for this week.
First off we had a mothers day party in the ward and it was so much fun!! We had a carne asada and ate lots of tacos and they played music and some of it was in English and I was just so happy! We werent allowed to dance, but they legitly know how to dance here and the whole ward went all out on the dance floor and it was so fun to just watch everyone! Then of course talking to all of you yesterday was the best part!! I couldnt stop smiling last night. Oh most random thing ever. So saturday they told us we were going to be teaching a training leadership meeting thing for the priesthood in the church on sunday and to print off this paper and they would help us know what we were doing. So we show up to the church and they dont teach us anything and next thing i know theyre like, ok Hermanas youre teaching the ward Alisos. So we had to teach this meeting to the bishop and all of the big wigs in the ward and we had no idea what we were doing so that was fun haha. Oh well we survived!
So I hit my 6 month mark last Tuesday!!!!!!!! Woo hoo!!!!! So all of the Elders always burn a tie at 6 months and we dont have ties so we burned a pair of my tights that I had bought for 12 pesos! They kind of just melted and looked like poo and smelled bad haha but woo Viva Mexico!!!! 6 months!!
Hmm nothing else too exciting. Theres a member in the ward who had her birthday the same day as you, mom, so we went to her house and ate tacos and cake and that was fun stuff.
We should be having our baptism for Angie this wednesday!!! Then hopefully Manuel next Wednesday so things are looking good! Oh man we had some good spiritual experiences with Angie and helping her feel ready for baptism because she was really reluctant for a while but she really felt the spirit and here we are getting ready for her baptism. I seriously just love the people here!! I say that all the time but its true. I love you all so much and cant wait to talk to you again on Christmas haha! I know this church is true and Im happy to be a missionary here in the best mission in the world!

I'm BOILING!!! 5/5/14

Hola hola from lovely old Ensenada where we find dead dogs in the streets  and ginormous spiders in the house!! Haha MOM HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! I STINKIN LOVE YOUR FACE AND MISS YOU SO MUCH!!! So stoked to call you all this week adn talk to you!!
This week was pretty uneventful. We walked and walked and walked and walked and nobody was ever home and we didnt have very many lessons, but that just means this week is going to be AWESOME! So im starting to feel the Mexican heat! Its finally getting hot and I feel like im being baked like a little cookie! Haha theres no such thing as air conditioning in the houses so we walk in our house at night and its hotter in there than outside in the sun. But its good because hopefully ill drop some poundage after all the tacos I eat!!
Ok funny story we were contacting this lady the other day and this HUGE bug came flying at me and landed in my hair! I didnt know it was in my hair but all of a sudden I just see a look of terror on my companions face while shes looking at me (Paula, it reminded me of the time that the foul ball was coming at your head in one of our tournaments and I just had a scared look on my face and you started freaking out haha) but yeah so I start freakin out and dancing around and slapping my head with my pencil. So the lady we were contacting started freaking out like "what is she convulsing....what kinds of stuff do you do in your church..." stuff like that and starts backing away from us! Haha lets just say she didnt set an appointment with us but Hermana Rosas and I got a kick out of it!
Yesterday in church was the funniest thing ever! Whenever we try and sing hymns here I just laugh because the piano is quiet and people go at their own pace and i cant explain it but I love mexicans theyre so awesome!
We have one investigator, Manuel, whose like fifty something and we have been working so hard with him on the word of wisdom and calling everyday and buying him treats when he completes his goals and its just so happy because he tells us all the time that we really are making a difference in his life and hes been wanting to quit smoking for a loong time and we gave him the motivation to do it! I love my mission!!!
But yeah holy poop I complete 6 months in the missino tomorrow!!!!!!!!! Crazy juice!! I come home in pretty much a year! Time really does pass by fast I cant believe its been six months! Well this was probably really long but I love you all so much and have an awesome mothers day everyone and Im so excited to see your lovely faces!!!!!!!

Bautismo por fin!! 4/28/14

Woo hoo how was everyones week???? This week was pretty awesome because HErmana Rosas and I finally had our first baptism together!!!!!!!!!!!! It was Ofelia and she is just the cutest little thing adn I love her to death! They took us out to eat tacos after to celebrate....mmm they know the way to my heart! Seriously I have a taco addiction! But yeah that was the best thing this week!
Oh so we had transfers this week and Im staying here like expected! Im actually really glad because I still dont feel ready to say goodbye to some of the investigators that we are working with! But guess what??? Theyre finally bringing other American sisters to Ensenada!!!!!!!!!!! Im so freakin stoked!!! Tomorrow I will meet them! Theyre both going to be new sisters who are in their training so its no one I know and it will be great! But at the same time transfers are always so sad to say goodbye to everyone in the zone...oh well such is life. I just get to meet more people!
Ok saddest thing of my life. Those 3 kids we have been working with we basically had to drop them the other day. We didnt say we arent going to come back because we will go in case we have an appointment dropped or something but we just cant plan to go visit them because they cant progress because of their mom. the 15 year old, Fernanda, you could tell knew what was happening. We just said we would pass by another day and she wasnt her jolly self and the look on her face when we walked away is killing me. I know Im still going to see them again but that has probably been the hardest part on the mission so far. I started tearing up when we walked away but then like in cloudy with a chance of meatballs I had to tell my tears to get back in there haha. Who knows if that made sense! Anyways love you all so much and Im stoked to talk to you soon!! LOVE YOU!!!
